Gentlemen here it is..

Firstly thanks to all the advice from everyone i made notes and it DID help..

got there after some 4x4 ing.. lotsa mud..

went down the right side of the "grensdraad" and sat about 50 meters to the left of the most right grensdraad..

started with a some FX and TCP .. rietvlei (RV)on one rod and slide (SRV) on other ..

fist fish came out but more on the SRV.. i then did the trick I saw by placing the dough hook in the bom.. this worked faster than the normal RV..

I did not cast out any voerplek before starting .. i was too concerned to get fish in the net..  morning picked up and went really well by 11 i landed a couple of nice fish but then there was no wind and then the wind picked up.. then i used the advice of going stronger..  i did the tnt and yellow activator.. and we stareted picking up again..

distance wise.. again as rampokker said .. in the after noon the fish moved deeper but in the morning they were in at about 60-80m ..

at the end to make up for numnbers i put a vaaldam trace and big sinker.. and cast hard as i could with no ground bait.. this gave me a few extra late PM fish that helped.

so in summary.. what ive leant..

Draaifontein is a reaaly awesome place.. will love to go back and wade in and go deeeep.. there are some nice fish ..

starting with sweet in the morning and starting shallow was a great idea...

wind penne .. NB .. the really helped..

ball shape.. do not do the footbal(rugby ball ) shape.. as they are easier to get wrong.. make a ball in your hands.. push the sinker in and pull through the weight..

push one hook in the ball and put over the ball dip stripe of choice..

join a club it helps..

I need to learn to cast better.. NB.. i will get me some T53 this week ..

baits..

FX, Ebony, Activator, Stuttaford and good old Vaaldam (supercast) with sweet wite dough..

for groundfeed .. NB you need to get the fish to much on it.. so make it soft was possible and mix in sweetcorn if you using instant groundfeed.

oh and i got second place overall in the comp and was asked to represent the club in the league later this month..

Thanks again guys.. !! Hope this helps you as youradvice heled me.

Please feel free to PM me or call if you want more info..
