Howzit Guy's
Well i wish i had alot of good news for everyone, but sorry no go.We fished a couple of times over the past weekend, and were bitterly disapointed. We fished Blue Lagoon on Saturday Morning water was good but nothing not even a bite no fish were caught except for a small pomie and an undersize shad.We fished glenashley on Saturday Night with no result. The water was ok with a slight current. As the tide started to push in the shorebreak got so larged it was frightning,,we eventually decided to call it a night.with just a few peckers being felt the whole night.
On Tuesday Morning we decided to go to Umkomaas we got there at about 8.00am and the beach was packed. We thought that just maybe we were in for a good day of fishing,But to our suprise there were more fisherman then fish.We fished till about 1pm when we saw a couple of pomies and some huge Kite Fish being landed. All these fish were taken on crackers.Other the those fish which were caught by a few regular Umkomaas anglers there was not much excitement happening.
A very interresting obsivation that we made over the past few weeks is how much our beaches have changed since the storms.Winkels beaches which used to be very wide are now alot more narrower then ever.On the high tide it is difficult to get to the high rocks on the right because the sand that was there has now been washed away and there is a channel that now flows inbetween the two sets of rocks.
At Umkomaas the ground in my opinion is now better then it has been in years the water is deeper and it looks alot better then before.A couple of changes, the road is still closed between the two entrances of the mouth North and South, you have to use a diversion over the bush so to say. Also on the high tide the mouth becomes so wide that you have to almost put your bags and gear on the dunes so as not to have them washed away. The water comes so far up its scary to think that if you went there at night and was unawear of this what could happen to your stuff.
Well thats all i have to report on for now hopefully i have better news next week..
Cheers Riymos
