I am looking to join a good angling club in the pretoria area any suggestions and prices.

Stywe lyne is not really an angling club that suits everybody

You will need to be a little more specific.

I do a lot of sea fishing and dam fishing but these days do not get to the coast that often so mostly dam fishing.

Sorry I can't really help you much.
I know many Boat clubs but bank clubs - eish maybe the likes of jacques might be able to help you out.

Clubs normally have a joining fee in the case of our club
R300 and then R350 per annum.
Bass Clubs are normally anywhere from 1k upwards per annum - there are exceptions to the rule.

In order to claim records one has to be affiliated to a club both on a porvinsial and national level

The deep sea fishing clubs here. How does it work? Do you go in groups? Discounts? ext.

First requirement - You need a boat with all the nessary Seaworthy equipment.
Club is joined on an individual basis

EvilJohnny that must have been an interesting fight on 1kg line in your profile - how long that take?

It was at a small vlei on the cape flats called Lange vlei. Its about half a meter deep for the first meter then drops down to about 2.5 meters. It took me about 40min to land because I could not get her to the surface to net her. The vlei is about 50 meters wide and that is where she spent most of the fight right on the other side of the vlei. Its one fight I will never forget. The guys living in Cape Town should really try Lange vlei great carp, catfish and bream in there.
