Fishing near Durban

Could anyone help. I'm from Pietermaritzburg and looking for some spots where I can pop down at first light and spin. looking to target shad, garrick, salmon (kob), kingfish and snoek. Thanks

Theres a list somewhere on Sealine with details on all the spots from Tongaat river up to Tinley. Its worth the mission trying to search for it. Otherwise try Umgeni mouth area from the beach side, Beachwood or Umdloti. Good Luck

Huntley, the best place to spin close to Durban is from the Blue lagoon north to Hyperama by the sea area.

The skiboats all come extremely close in to troll and spin for Natal snoek and garrick.

To access this stretch of beach you will have to take the virginia airport offramp. Then park your car at the bottom of the runway.

This time of year this area is infested with smaller shad, so most of your hook ups will be shad.

I've seen many natal snoek being taken off the beach there.

Good luck

Huntley don't make eye contact with any single males parked at the end of the runway. This is a popular pickup point for those who bat for the other side. Rather park on the beach side. Use it don't use it.

Thanks guys. I take it you move up and down this section looking for holes and sand banks? I definitely won't be making any eye contact, maybe buy a pair of look-me-back sunglasses. Thanks for the warning.
