Hey guy's i leaving friday for Midmar Dam... Would it even be worth it taking a rod along?.. I'm not a fresh water fisherman but targeting carp in winter at Midmar is it posible?

HEy Mr N.. just to let you knw i'm not a Carp fisherman and to be realy honest this was my first time targeting them... i used a normal rig consisting of a baby shoes rig, mielie bobm, and two sweet corn on each hook... i dipt the bomb in some dip i baught and it smels and tastes good to.. he he the fishing was realy slow... i'l hav ethe pic up on Sealine by 2mrw.. the best thing that i saw at Midmar is to make a feeding spot, cast in your bait(mielies & mielie bomb) and just leave it 2-3 hours... the only time i payd any atention to my rod was when i hurd the reel screaming...
