Fishing License

Hi

I have been around to a couple of takle shops to try and find out where to get a license. I have received a couple of answers from them and all have been differant.

Where do you get these these day's or is it easier just to join a club to get this?

You can get it from your local Post Office.

i think post office only sells licences for the salt, i got mine from Cape Nature...

I got my Sport Fishing Permit from the local post office,

R60,00 and is valid in all municipal fresh water.

Yip it will be a big pain if the cops confiscate all your equipment and still gives you fine ontop of that.

I'm worried about the same thing, tried all the tackle shops i know in and around town but like previously mentioned, all had a different story and what worries me is that the 3 post offices i went to couldn't help me either.
Bigmouth - where did you buy yours?

Any PO should be able to give you one... But thy the ones that also renew vehicle licenses.

i had the same problem a while back when i had to renew my license pokkels. a sealine member told me to go to Cape Nature and sure enough, they sorted me out.

so try your local Nature Conservation office.

Are the permits required wherever one fishes, or in certain dams and such?

I knew about the saltwater fishing permits, never knew I needed one for freshwater?

yip, permits are required on all public waters. at R45 it's really not a big deal, better than having to look over your shoulder all the time.

i went over to Mia's, I was told that I could get it from them, but the guy there told me that licences were not available for the last three years.

I went to weltevreden park post office this weekend and they could sell me one. I also went to a takle shop in Goldman street Florida and they also were able to sell me one.

Try your local post office first if they cannot help you or call Anglers bait and tackle in Kempton on 011 394 1709 thats the closest place's details I have other wise try your local tackle store
