G'day,

Well done on a cracking site! Full of useful info.

Hoping someone can point me in the right direction... I am heading back to SA for a couple of weeks in Dec and would like to wet a line. How do I go about getting hold of a fishing licence? Can I do anything online? Trying to limit the admin and max the fishing time....

Will be in Salt Rock for a few days. Never been there before - is the fishing any good? Looking to cast a spoon or two with light tackle.

Many thanks.

Go to the Post ofice when back in SA or ask your family to do so for you. You will need R75 and your ID Or copy of it. It should take you about 10 min. from walking in untill you have it in your hand.

The Salt Rock and Balito area are very productive with spoons.

Sorry for the hi-jack, but from what age is one supposed to be in possession of a licence.

Thanks for the replies. I assume the PO is only open on weekdays?

What fish would one expect to pick up on a spoon or popper? Shad, Leerie?

It might be a bit late for leerie in December, you never know tho, shad seson will be open then, you might pick up a few, kingies should be around and even with a bit of luck a snoek.
