I have spent my life fishing the waters around Knysna. It is interesting to see a lot of them from an aerial view. Fishing in the area good at the moment. R&S there are plenty cracker coming out at the moment and then also a few cob most of which are caught at night.
This area really prone to a groundswell with the result that most beaches fish best when the sea is slightly smaller. The South East or East wind is an essential to fishing here as it will generally flatten the sea and add colour. The evening or morning after a good east wind is a good time to target both cob and cracker.
Fishing east of the heads is good especially for cracker. Coney Glen is a famous cracker spot with good leeries also landed here. It is difficult to move further east than Coney as there are places where the sea will not allow you to pass. Access will generally need to be through private land which is not really feasible.
Most of the estuaries are fishing well at the moment and one can expect to catch either grunter, leerie or cob. It is imprtant to fish before there is greater activity on the water with Christmas holidays looming as the fish become very skittish and one generally needs to fish at night over this period. I have heard that there are some nice leeries in Sedgefield recently and with Goukama mouth open there should be a few around there.
