George to Knysna = 1 Hour Drive minimum = 60Km
Knysna tp Plett on a good day = 30 Minutes = about 30Km

There are masses of great places to fish in and near Wilderness, which is much much closer

i think they also call tafeltjie "flat rock" sometimes, unless flat rock is someplace else and i have it completely wrong.

used a nokia 6110 navigator to get the GPS of the place where you'll have to park (34.000700 S 22.622330 E) on 6th Ave this Dec. it right between the yellow and green lines in the pic above. don't know how accurate it is. also prepare yourself for some pretty hectic stairs. also take lots of sinkers, as you'll get stuck often if you cast straight or to the left.

Nope it will take 1 hour to plett. DO IT. THERE IS NO BETTER HIGH WATER POINT THAN ROBBERG IN THE WHOLE OF SA!!!! It might be a long walk but it is well worth it. Another option is the island also at robberg which is a 2km walk. Kleinkrans can be moody and the big shark are not always there. You will have a lot of fun there though. Caught 7 bronzies and 1 sandie in 1 afternoon there in dec....

Bru, if you drive an hour from George to Plett, you are viloating the speed limit something seriously, and that aint funny because that road is not a safe place to do so.

By no means do I always obey the speed limit, but don't mess with that road. I lived in Knysna for seven years. Two people I know died on the George-Knysna road in that time and four on the Plett-Knysna road. These were people that I knew, not just stories I heard.

Loams,

I couldn't differ from you. That, really, is a treacherous piece of road. No joke; and irritating!!!!! I do that stretch ±7 times a year between CPT and PLZ. Usually I get a houseboat at Lightleys:D for a sleep-over on the return. My Shimano (I just HAD to say it) 7ft Beast Master and Torium 30 fits comfortably on the Nissan Hardbody. So it becomes an almost three day trip. Those houseboats are expensive but not that much more than you would have paid at a B&B or hotel. Of course, anchoring in the channel, having a line in the water, sleeping and waiting on the ratchet to wake you; no comparison to a B&B or ANY other accomodation! Eish!

Cheers

PS Can you imagine how I had to scramble back to be in the pic:beer

Good on you to have released it, but you certainly need not justify it to me

When I lived in Knysna I didnt fish :(

I fished when I was a laaitie and only recently picked it up again. Also I have also been more of a freshy. Eish man, I lost a lot of fishing time in my life :?

Sorry, cant help you with that, but ask Noweeds, he seems to ID fish easily.

*edit* Lets see if I can come close. It's not a spotted Grunter, but looks very similar. Probably closely related...... Maybe there is something like a striped grunter or Zebra Grunter LMAO
