Fishing Competitions

When fishing in competitions you obviously need to have proof of your catch.

  • Live wells and keep nets are the most common way. [/*]
  • In some comps they promote catch and release. When you are dealing with catch and release how do you prove what you have caught.[/*]
  • How do the organizers ensure that this method is honest and accurate?[/*]
  • Has anyone won a comp using the catch and release method?

Marshals and spotters.

Each competing team is allocated a spotter or marshal that stays with that team for the duration of the comp and measures and weighs the fish and records it. Then the fish is released. This is to my knowledge how it is done.

I will try and get someone to second me on that.
