Fishing ban in Zambia, Decto end of Feb

i have just been told by  a lodge  (    http://www.kiambi.co.za/   ) that there a ban on all fishing when i go that way on honeymoon

can anyone please give me more info, like its only in Zambia and we canstill fish Namibia and Botwana ect

please guys also if you know of any more great spots for safe camping, specially in Zambia please let me know

Seems like Zambia will be less crowded than Botswana

Zambia is Less crowded but way more expensive....
I doubt there is a fishing Ban but knowing Kiambi this is a cover up as normally this time of year is the least productive on the lower zambezi due to discoloured water and the two main species are vundu and Cornish due to the lack tigers.

Also Remeber that this time of the year is rainy season and all 4x4 activities will be very limited - it is scary how much black cotton soil Zambia has.....

right as julle manne se dis so duur wat raai julle my dan aan om eerder te doen en waar om te vang, ek het omtrent 3 weke net vir daai area en ek sal nie omgee om op n lekker plek te kamp vir 5-7 dae nie

i will go to zim if its safe and if i can find a nice place to stay and fish thats not gonna cost me and arm and a leg, do you think its a good spot to go 2

I travelled Zim for 3 weeks in September - Zim is very Cheap and everything is relativly available. Zambia is not a place to visit.
Zambian Petrol is around R18 /L depending on the Exchange rate - Zim is R10 /L
Road blocks in Zambia love South African's as we are more inclined to Pay.
Be sure to put extra reflectors on the back and front of Vechicle (Red at the back White at the front"

There is a fishing ban but you can still fish on the Namibian or Botswana sides. The locals don't bother about the bans though as usual. I work a lot in Western Zambia but mostly in the bush so no campsites but you need to have locals with you to do that. Zambia is not big on campsites its all expensive lodges, you get ripped off. At the moment diesel is around R11-12. Shackletons is a good fishing spot, but again - expensive. They have tents, but still pricey. There are very few self catering places. Last time we stayed the last night in Vic Falls, much nicer and cheaper than Livingstone. I know someone that just went through Zim and as far as I know they didn't have problems

Botswana also has a fishing ban sometime in the year... its good as they still have plenty feesh... Maybe we should try that... let the stocks recover.. ;-)
