Fish finders are only expensive when you dont use them!!

Buy a finder for R1700 and take the time to learn how to read it and you will find that it was worth the money you spent!!

IMO these are the best 'bang for buck' sounders around - the Hummingbird - PMAX 170 at R1500.00 and the Lowrance - X-50 DS - R1600.00.

The Pmax is newer but the X-50 comes with a 3 year waranty, I would probably go with the X-50.
