fish identification

Hi nice fish. Looks like a hogfish with an attitude im not sure what it is. Looks strong

Yes, very strong and know how to cut you on the reefs.
I also thought goldsaddle-hogfish, but the head is different.

Another one that we could not identify

You must be fishing in Angola.. the first one is a hog fish but I'm not sure which one it is.. Nothing like any of Our SA ones but I did see one caught the same as that when I was at Flamingo.. The bottom one is a lizard fish of some sort. looks like the same one we get here but a heck of a lot bigger..

Yup, north of Namibe.
Caught the lizard on a slide using a small blacktail.
See the tail sticking out of his mouth and the puncture mark of the hook below the fin.
Caught another one in 28m of water while drifting, used a huge piece of octopus leg as bait.
