firstly, forgive me if im doing anything wrong here with uploading the pics, i am new to this site and seemed quite cool so decided to join.

went away to margate for a weekend and on the first day had no bites, second day i caught 3 fish, of which one managed to get off the hook as soon as i pulled him onto the sand.

heres my first fish that im really proud of, although its small, it is the most stunning fish ive ever seen, the picture doesnt do justice, the colours are so bright.

anyway, i think hes a surge wrasse

so in my few months of fishing ive caught 4 fish, i managed to pull in a real monster, unfortunately because of its awesome size i threw it back without getting a pic. i named him buster, and buster was a yellow belly rock cod about 10cm long, if that. he was a real cutie pie.

oh and by the way i threw back the surge wrasse too because he was just so awesome. the mullet on the other hand i kept to eat but wasnt sure what he was until i found out that he was a mullet and was told that they arent great to eat, ive never felt so bad in my life, anyway i returned him to the sea unfortunately the other fish that day apparently dont like mullet because i didnt get one bite.

and heres a pic of my favourite fishing buddy

those are some great catches.. good first report well done on releasing some.. best for a mullet would be fry it crispy with extra masala's etc to take away that bland taste that they sometimes have. :wfish

Well done Claire and welcome to Sealine! Mullet can make a great meal if prepared correctly. As Flippy said, smother the flesh in spices and fry crispy.
