Hey Guy's.

I have been watching the forum for quite some and have learnt a great deal from you already! I have been targeting mermaids for quite a while now and recently started using artlures with a fair amount of success. Untill I went through these forums, I had only used spinnerbaits and soft plastics and although they worked, they were not that consistent.

Yesterday I popped down to my local tackle dealer and bought a lipless crankbait by Strike Pro called the Red Eye Shad in a chartreuse colour and went down to my local pond and drilled two good fish within minutes! Just like the fabled Slider, it has a great wobble when it falls thought the water column. One fish I caught by using a jig and drop retrieve while the other I caught by jiggling it under a tree. Both takes were epic! Thank you so much for sharing all your knowledge as I never would have though a bait like this could work!

Regards,
Riaan

Here are some pics of the lure I used! The top one is the colour I bought and the bottom one is just a better picture of the lure as a whole!

Good catches there

Just a small correction, those lipless crankbaits you bought are Strike King and not Strike Pro.

Where you buy them, would like to get some myself ...?

Haha! Thank you so much for the correction! They have them at Fishing Specialist in Maitland an they go for R60 a pop. They also have a great red/orange combo which looked quite good. I see you stay in Stellenbosch, where do you fish there?

Just to let you guys know, I tried the Strike Pro lures and really wasn't happy. The action was bad and the lure was a generally bad quality!
