Are all Honda motors like teenage girls ,the new boat launched in December has two used 150 Hondas that have only done 40hours each ,from the get go the port side motor started spluttering and pooping as would indicate fuel starvation ,as the motors come from Knysna we had to converse with them by phone as we tried to eliminate the usual suspects.
local agents could pick up nothing on their diagnostics so the Raco filters were thought to be the culprit,we bypassed them and still same problem ,local mechanic friend checked out the filters in the motor ,said all looked ok ,he suspected a fuel pump problem.
Out of frustration we phone a friend who works for Honda in Pretoria ,he asks if the micro filter in the motor is discoloured ,we say yeah ,he tunes theres you problem,we take out the little paper cartridge as spares were not available and viola problem gone ,,,jeeeezzz,
Now the shocker ,R499.00 for the little paper cartridge,iesh someones getting rich
Anyways we order a spare set of all the filter from Knysa,they arrive by post ,the one pack says genuine Honda spares ,made in China ROFLMFAO,and the other says made in Japan.
Anyway coming from sea this arvie the starboard motor buzzer comes on and the revs drop down to 2000rpm and stay there.WTF
Coming in the mouth on one motor not good for the old ticker.Now to try and figure out whats wrong ,all oil levels are correct ,motor not overheating,iesh know what they say if it flies ,floats or .... its gonna give you trouble
