Fibreglass Blades

Hey Guys,

I am looking at moving towards using composite fins, but seen as at the moment i mainly shoredive, i was thinking of using a fibreglass blade. Now i know this is a personal prefrence etc, but does anybody have any reviews on which ones etc?
I have found 2 that look good, namely the Spearmaster and Spierre. I know that Spierre is probably going to be the better bet?

I have been using the Spearmaster Composite blades for about a year now and am very happy with them. I know Andries, the guy that makes them.I paid R700 for my blades and if I have any hassles I can get them fixed or replaced easily and the factory is 5km from my house.I am very rough on my gear and do a lot of shore entry diving. These blades have held up well.

I have not used the Speirres but from the reviews they sound good.

Thanks royrf. Have you found them to improve your diving style at all. I know some guys say that a composite blade makes finning a lot easier etc? Which ones did you get, the med, heavy?

I've used the orca composites, I haven't used the Spearmaster or the Spierre's but I'm also in the process of developing something... contact me for info or prices

I started diving with a set of Johri Fibreglass blades about 1.5 years back. They have been better than the 2 previous sets of Sporasub and another brand of carbon fins I had previously and pretty much bullet proof.

Get hold Of Rian or check their website as they are also well priced. Small change in kicking style and they give a lot more return for the effort.

Had 2 piars of Spierre fins and they the best fins I've ever owned and I've been through at least about 6 pairs of all sorts over the years.

His service is also realy good, had some problems with my last pair an he replaced them no quibble.

Not sure how they priced compared to the others but they worth every cent.
