Hi Guys
I am not sure if this is the right spot to post my query. Anyway, here goes: I own a 1988 Yamaha 30hp outboard. When cold, the motor engages reverse without a problem. However, after running the motor it struggles to engage reverse and a grinding noise is heard when trying to engage reverse. The revs also pick up and "runs away" in reverse. Has anyone experienced something similar and/or know what I can do to solve the problem? I have been told that the cable (from the throttle to the linkage) shold be adjusted. Others reckon I should adjust the "reverse revs".
