Hey Ther Quick Bite
the dam does produce some great fish, both carp and bass.
i fish there regularly and have caught several carp in excess of 7Kg and bass topping the scale at 2.5Kg.
the carp prefer particles (peanuts/scopex boilies) but the smaller fish hammer the floaties.
I caught a 11Kg barble using a 2" Shad Rap - great fun with a Bass Rod.
i found that more bass are caught with crank baits but many anglers that frequent the dam will tell you that plastics are the order of the dam.
give it a go mate - there are BIG fish in that little pond!!!!!!!
Thx Danman- which side do u fish from?? Do u release the bass
Carefull of statements above - it is illegal to relaese alein fish species back into waters.........Releaseing the Bass is a Must!!!
I usually fish on the Boad Club side (on the road) 'ocz of safety reasons - many muggings have taken place on the park side.
The spot next to the buoys on the far left (the corner) just before the fence is good for carp and bass alike.
there is a fairly deepwater point about 150m from the corner towards the boat club, atree grows over the water to the right there is a tall tree and a reed bank. cast about 2m to the left of the reed bank just past the bank (20m) Nice sandy bottom there about 2.5m deep. Big carp patrol that drop off.
Standing on the wall, to the right, on the adjacent bank (park side) is a sand bank (beach like) also good for carp there - fish with a buddy and leave when the sun goes down.
fishing off the wall is good fro small bass up to 500g.
