Ek hoop om spoedig fotos te kry van vandag se kompetisie. volgende comp is 24 Oktober, almal welkom, dit is n aand kompetisie by strand.

Die vol verslag met al die menslike drama! Ons soek dit...waar is dit? Ek het al paar kiekies op whatsapp gesien. Hoekom is dit nie reeds hier nie?

Geen negatiewe kommentaar as dit by visvang kom nie nee man dirk. Ons het jou gemis saterdag in die prag weer.

As it is spring tide and low is at 8h48 am we decide at our monthly meeting to start our comp this month fashionably late thinking a later sleep will keep the missus happy on a Saturday morning and give us a chance to see the holes on low and being able to fish them on the push and high.
So 9 am we gather at bp gordonsbay with the gordonsbay harbour wall being one boundary and sparks bay on the far side of kogel bay being the other. Rules are explained for the day by Seasick and maaknlas(comp secretaries and weigh masters for the day)so off we went. All seven mad fisherman.

Some go off straight to sparksbay hoping to elude the howling south easter but Seawiid,myself and seasick go investigate Bikini beach area knowing that the water at dappats and sparks would be too low to have a cast.

seawiid decides to have a cast right there in the shallows and myself and seasick decide to go investigate dappats gat area - feeling fitter than we are really>...

As we stop at dappats gat parking seawiid sends a whatsapp things are going like a boeing at bikini and we are excited almost jumping in the bakkie to go back------

driving around the mountain the bay doesn't look good for fishing but we hope for some protection from the mountain.

kitted and rearing to go we descend into dappats gat and my did it look good. only problem is a huge sandbank and not enough water to cover the rocks where the gallies normally feed.

So back up the mountain path with some heavy breathing and sore calves seasick and myself go on to look if the other guys found spots as good but fishable. one good thing zero wind in kogelbay awesome!!!!

we find golfnut and kooner and herman trying their luck on the far end of the beach. Gets some bites there on fresh red bait but nothing stuck.

we give it a good go but with water pushing and wind starting to come around the corner we decide to search for faheem extremist cause he is awfully quiet

found him at an old favorate spot sparks bay> nice braai area and you can almost fish out of the back of your bakkie. No fish yet but its looking promising for the high tide.
So myself ,faheem.herman and cj decide to stick out the wind and adjust or tackle accordingly hoping for the bite to come on high.

not long and we get rewarded with the first little gallie.

Faheem with 27 cm monster he releases back to grow some more

my juices gets flowing getting a 31 cm gallie releasing it quicly after measuring.

lets hope for a sizer that can add some points I say - the gotta be in here

faheem getting another and herman landing 2 as well all in the same size fish. very pretty but go grow some more so we can catch you next season.

At last one of us gets a size fish adding some points to his yearly tally.

16h00 we meet at our arranged spot being Harmony park parking area in strand. only us four die hards made the full day with the south easter beating up the rest into early retirement for the day.

A difficult day with 5 galjoen and one black tail caught and an enjoyable with friends fishing awesome!!!

Herman took the cup and medal for the month - well done mate.
