Where: [/b]13Km North of Loskop Dam on the Groblersdal Road.
Distance:[/b] 270km from JHB.

Dam/River:[/b] Olifants River.
Accomodation[/b]: Camping, Caravans or 3x Fishing Huts.
Power:[/b] Yes.
Ablutions:[/b] Yes. Hot Showers, Flushing Toilets. Very clean, well designed & maintained.
Family Friendly:[/b] Yes. (There is a kiddies play area & plenty of space for them to run around.)
Wood & Ice Available:[/b] Yes.
Major Fish Species: [/b]Blue & Red Kurper, Carp, Yellow fish, Mudfish, Sharp-tooth Catfish.
Best Fishing Spot:[/b] Far left hand side. Cast towards the electric pylons in the distance.
Weather:[/b] Very hot with clear to partly cloudy skies. (Ave. Temp. 34 Degrees)
Successful Baits: [/b]Floaties (Plain, Caramel, Honey & Bunspice 32), Mielies, Brown Bread, SWD & Worms.
Successful Muti’s: [/b]
[/b]Mornings: Ebony, 2000, Lucky Strike & FX. (Sweet & Fruity Flavours)
Afternoons: Bunspice, Transkaroo & FX. (Spicy Flavours)
Evenings: Car Guard or Q35. (Stronger Flavours)
Notes: [/b]There are plenty of underwater snags, so strong line and reels with a high rate of retrieval are a must. The fish were biting furiously in the mornings and then went quiet until about 15h00 when they became active again until 19h00. There are BIG fish in the river but unfortunately we weren’t able to catch any. The river is in good condition and very clean with lots of structure. We saw a number of large Blue kurper but small fish took the bait before the big ones had a chance. We caught a total of 30 fish for the weekend of which most were small carp under 2Kg’s.The best fish of the trip was a fat Red-nose muddie of about 2.5Kg.
