Hi All,

It will be my first trip to the Kosi and Bhanga Nek area in 2 weeks. We are staying at a community camp Little Paradise.

I would very much appreciate some advise and tips on dropshotting the area. Unfortunately I do not own a boat but I will hopefully befriend some of you fellow fisherman down there. :sf:::

Where are your favourite dropshot spots in the area?
Whats you favourite lures and colors.
Can one dropshot along the shore of the lake system?
Can one arrange permits to Kosi Mouth and Black Rock in advance? Who can help?
Favourite must see places?

From researching the sealine forums I have the following on my shopping list:
Gulp Camo Worms.
Chartuese Jerk Shad.
Red and white proppe.
Floats.
Fresh prawns. If I can get fresh from Total.
Pearl olive plastic variants.

Thanks!!

Where are your favourite dropshot spots in the area? Ledges at Mile 8 and 9. Walk North, There are markers on the dunes to show you where you are at.

Whats you favourite lures and colors. Camo worm to get a bite otherwise, White and yellow. Also do some topwater with ice cream plugs.

Can one dropshot along the shore of the lake system? Watch out for hippos

Can one arrange permits to Kosi Mouth and Black Rock in advance? Who can help? No. You need to go to the KZn Wildlife site on the banks of lake 3 when you are there.

Favourite must see places? Black Rock

From researching the sealine forums I have the following on my shopping list:
Gulp Camo Worms. yes
Chartuese Jerk Shad. Tes
Red and white proppe. White ice cream chisel nose popper.

Have not fished the lake much but on our last trip, the guys we were with managed only 1 pike.

Also fish the beach leading up to the bhanga Neck point for some 3 spot. They tend to be a bit small but good fun none the less.

Make sure you carry your fushing license. You will be asked for it.
