If you're talking about the Palmiet mouth, then yes - there are leeries for sure but in season only. I tried there recently but no action . There were some guys baitfishing off the dropoff, dunno what for though. For the leeries (mostly small ones as far as I have heard) you'd do best with small chiselnose plugs and possibly soft plastics under calm conditions. I have heard of guys hooking up to 30 small leeries in an hour session there before sunset.
On the other side of Kleinmond is also a "lagoon" which apparently has some very agressive carp in it. Further on is the Botriver vlei, which has elf and leeries. The stretch of beach between Kleinmond and the mouth of the Botriver lagoon looks awesome with all the gullies. Check it out on GE and let us know how it went. I'm sure there you'll get cob and steenbras.

Kleinmond het net klein leeries en daai 18kg braid gaan hopeloos te heavy wees, gaan eerder na n 10lbs fireline toe of so, meer fun. Jy sal nie leervis daar kry wat sommer groter as 50cm is nie. Ons het hulle al daar met die vlieg gevang.
Daar is ook steenbras in daai lagoon, en soos willie gese het die ander lagoon by kleinmond het n paar wilde karpe in. Botrivier...jong ek wil nog n vis daar sien uitkom, daar moet groot vis in wees maar dit gaan n helse soektog wees.
Slyp maar eers jou tande op die klienties en dan gaan try jy vir die grotes.
En onthou, catch and release and verander jou treble hoeke na single hooks toe, minder skade aan die vis se bek en jy het n beter hook up rate.
