I fished rock and surf in Kenton and there are plenty of gullies around middle beach, kariega river mouth and bushman’s river mouth. There are two rivers, bushman’s and kariega which have lots of leervis, kob, and grunter.
there are two many places to suggest now but a place I think would work really well and I know fly fisherman have had success with the above mentioned species is in the evening at the floating restaurant. This is basically a jetty with a restaurant situated in a deep channel. At night time they shine a light into the water which attracts bait fish and in turn attracts the game fish. I would think that any of the drop shot for game fish as well as the worms and shrimps would work well here.
The floating restaurant is on the bushman’s river and is accessible by a car. Just ask any one when you there as everyone knows the place and it’s very easy to find.
Also if you take a drive to the bushman’s river mouth and park in the car park, then walk to the mouth and walk from right to left towards middle beach you will come across many gullies with deep wholes where, kob, blacktail and bronze bream are often caught as well as rockod. Also along the rocks at Shelly beach there are some good holes. Shelly beach is between bushman’s river mouth and Shelly beach.
There are also some good places in cannon rocks and port alfred but you will see them when you get there.
good luck and tight lines....i'm sure you should catch in these areas!
