Dropshot, Kalkbay

Hello all, any recent dropshot action at Kalkbay harbour? New at the game and would like to try it out at Kalkbay harbour.

Appalling conditions last night,& waste of time.I drove down,had one look,no one fishing,very unpleasant with cold gale force winds,& turned around & went home.

on the 9-01-2009 ... tried a bit off dropshot(camo sandworm,Blood worm and 2 inch minnows) ..

no bites... nothing ...NADA .....

tried different retrieves ...but nothing ...

Took the wife down to Kalk Bay with me on Friday night. Been training for the Argus which has meant no time for fishing. After hearing about the Kob shoal, decided to head down as I needed to wet a line.. (I was starting to get shakes ;)

Lots of people on the wall, and more arriving all the time with everyone pulling up small fish for live bait. Totally agree with what Dorado75 said a while back about giving these fish a chance to grow..

In that spirit I also tried some drop-shot. Used a 2 ounce jig head with a 7" McCarthy clear/yellow minnow and 5" Berkley Gulp chartreuse squid. Nothing after an hour...

Only catch I heard about was a small Stumpnose in the afternoon.

Not entirely a waste, as we headed back to one of the local restaurants for a good dinner.
