Hi all

I am going down to Uvongo to my holiday home on the 28th September and would like to know what I can expect in terms of dropshot- havent really dropshoted there yet and would like to know whats coming out and on what lures- retrieves as well. Also whats coming out on normal rock and surf. Havent been down to the South Coast for long so any and all advice would be welcome. Thanks.^^..^^..^^..:fswim:fswim:fswim:SSS:SSS:SSS:SSS  :::S

A while ago when we were down there, we had a lot of fun on light tackle (6 - 6.6" rods) in the small bays of Liliecrona ave. (Especially the little bay left of the tide pool, which is close to the end of Liliecrona on Manaba side.)

Caught plenty of Karanteen, blacktails, puffers and a few other species as well.

We used combinations of bait, lures and rigs. A modified bass texas rig with a pink skirt worked well - and we used small pieces of either IQF sards or mackerel.

Also a normal karanteen rig worked well.

I also reckon, you might get some results with a 3" minnow or camo worm. I will be down there again over the weekend of the 14th and going to try exclusively with plastics this time or until my laaitie is 20 up on me :wfishagain and then will switch to bait probably :lol:1
