Can anybody please help me with spots for d'shotting in the Strand area.

I have been trying at the Strand but it seems all the fish moved up to Gauteng. I am prepared to drive around to some other spots that is productive.

I shall also appreciate some help on bait. I have been using the Gulp camo worm and the Gulp 4" cray but with no sucess.

PLEASE HELP.

I am no expert in Drop shotting but if you go the strand jetty ive seen drop shotters and flyfishers fishing in the two small bays on either side of the jetty and apparently you can get some elf and leeries there or you could do a bit of wading out to the reefs and fish the gullies for some reef fish aswell as the usual cob and elf that frequent the area - sometimes!, you could also try melk baai on a low tide to the left of shark rock . Ive seen some nice edibles come out there (stumpnose , belman ,elf ect ) and theres no reason why the fish shouldent take your dropshot if they are there ofcourse. Hope this helps but as i said im no expert with this dropshot stuff , i prefer the real thing - Bait.

Other spots you could try are : Uilenkraals - Die Grys for Gallies and ive spoken to someone who said that they have caught some Galjoen at Melkbos with drop shot.

Try the estuary in Muzinberg and MUST try the Gulp sandworm, caught alot of fish on it and my friend hooked a skate, but snapped the line.

Hello Guys

I am no dropshot expert but what would be the opportunity on the Strand reefs to target smooth hounds on dropshot. I have heard of a few guys hooking these sharks on fly so i can only think that one would be able to target them on dropshot. With the right sent and murky water this may work. Has anyone tried this yet? It would be one incredible achievement to lang a 20 kg shark on dropshot amongst the reefs.
