Dropshot Fishing Garden Route Area?

I take it that you are looking for something close to home... The touw river is a good bet for small leerie... Try fishing freesia (spelling?) rock with small poppers and small plastics - we have had some fun there! Early morning and late afternoon are obviously a good bet.
The Sedgefield lagoon is also very good although I have not personally fished it - the mouth area has decent drop-offs which will hold leerie. Spring tides will be best.
There is also Island lake which holds big leeries. You'll need a boat and will need to throw big plastics and poppers.
The fishing should taper off as winter approaches...

Thanks for the reply, been lucky to get some leeries at the touw river but with winter almost here its getting difficult. Want to know what fish i can target on drop shot of the rocks and surfzone? Between Knysna and Mosselbay? and what baits to use? Anybody?

I am fairly new to the dropshot scene as well, have fished Touws River and was beaten to bits, but no takes. There was "Springers" jumping all over. They took the small "no name brand" soft bait fish rigged on 1/4 ounce jigg, but on the tail, bucktail worked the same outcome.
Will be trying a no.2 longshank right to the back with sliding bullet weight for casting.
I have had the same result as above in the Kaaimans river and Great Brak River.
Any suggestions?
