Please would all you hardened drop shotters out there help to shed some light on a debate my mate & I were having on the boat as the sun set over the Swartkops the other day:
We were discussing the effectiveness of the dropshot after dark. Now, seeing as though fish feed using the following senses: sight, smell & 'feel (lateral line / vibration etc), darkness would obviously remove the sight aspect of these three - leaving the smell & vibration.
I argued that the action & smell (of some dropshot tails) would be sufficient for a strike - especially if bumped along the bottom. My mate was not too sure - preferring a casting rap with rattle balls.
Give us some feedback and let us put this one to bed. Who's caught what after dark? As well as the catch rate on droppie day vs night.
thanks!
