Long John... I am a rock and surf angler who enjoys the odd dropshot outing. As well as a customer at Fish Zone(they sell Beautiful squid!)I only use Berkely and hate sensation But I have seen the photos of Henry's Fish and all I can say is Wow...Especially considering the fact that He is not using Berkley.Saying He cant afford the products was a real cheap shot.so Please let me know when You in Richards Bay so I can see Henry KICK YOUR ASS.

Through all of this nobody has yet said that any other brands are rubbish.

Only, some members here on the forum have a propensity to want to denigrate other makes, to promote or justify theirs.

I am realy not interested to pursue this kind of debate any further and wish everybody fishing with whatever baits they choose the best of luck and hope they have many tight lines.

At the end of the day if you connect some hooks to a Coke can or packet of cigarettes,  you will also catch something.

God Bless you Matt-Mason!

Sorry but No great loss & I think members would agree. But things would work so much better don't you agree if you had something constructive to say. While fishing at K/Bay, or on a phone to someone today,or via pm's,without my mention thereof, yours & Van's name regularly pop up as conflicting members wrt guys querying drop shot gear, etc. You may question this, but just reflect back on your postings & just with this one, you've got so much negative feedback that i agree with Dingleberry's statement as to where this is coming from.A suggestion,as this is my Modus operandi - Kindly say something constructive & members May show some respect,or rather say nothing if it leads to these results.I don't really get it with what your intentions are by creating conflict with Sealine Members ,and personally don't appreciate your lack of respect towards Same Sealine members or Experts, whom I have nothing but respect for.Lastly, perhaps it's time you take some of the advice you're brandishing around for free, and try and exercise some PR,as you may start making some friends on Sealine. If you could just be more constructive & face the reality that you have far more to offer than that which you have been feeding the members.

Sounds great Fluke but mind that what you are saying is against the law. I dont have anything against it, just dont want you to give yourself away...

We've been down this road in another thread and all is good as long as we promote the cause.:thankie

Van and LJ are not everybodies cup of tea and I've voiced my opinion previously. I have seen Van have a change of heart(even if a little late sometimes) but LJ you could follow his example. As I've said before it takes 2 to Tango an antagonist and a retaliator, and in this thread there are remarks that are antagonistic towards Berkley. Let's all be mature and stop the mud slinging and name calling. If you have to pass derogatory remarks about other products it's probably because you are insecure in your own product, or looking for attention. If all the products you guys promote are so good then tell us why they are good and not why others are so bad.

I'm all for a challenge so lets see the actual results of LJ vs couta koppie because actions speak louder than words, and despite the sometimes poor representation of Berkley by individuals on this forum NO MANUFATURER has done more than Berkley to promote dropshot and educate us! I think that this is confirmed by the fact that Berkley is the only name we all know! Where are the dvd's from the other manufacturers?

Please guys can we now talk about why eco-gear, McCarthy, Laumas, Sensation etc are so good and lets see some pics of what they've caught.

Personally I've used Berkley, McCarthy, Laumas & Sensation. Laumas and Sensation are to soft and doesn't last. McCarthy has a good consistency and is the best non Berkley product I have used. Berkley is best and it's Bio-Degradeable so I don't pollute. Unfortunately I'm only a beginner in Dropshot and have no catches to back up my statement, but I have twice represented SA Presidents team in Bass so I know a little about soft plastics.

Please guys help (rather than discourage) me and others like me to learn about dropshot so that we can also catch all the fish that the experts out there catch.

Where can you buy ECO-gear from?

I am sure we are going to have some good banter when Van the Fisherman sees this thread :)

No, there won't, cause couta-koppie cant afford to order and keep Berkley products. He has to talk good of those products he carries, at the cost of others.

Clearly couta-koppie is also lost about the Berkley DVD referred to by waynev, sure he doesnt have a clue. Dont think he can help you waynev.

Only voice an opinion once you have heard the bell and seen the tower.

Now before you go off and attack me again, please note, couta-koppie threw down the gauntlet: "we catch more fish in a day on drop shot then he does on that dvd. (Which DVD?) To be completely honest, all of our members use non Berkley products. It isn't cheap and doesnt work as well as other brands :lol:1. Trust me, tried and tested. I will even garantee you that every bloke who recon it is the best has never tried other brands such as sensaion, gummy or my favourite, Eco gear!!!"

Is it not amazing that those who have tried and tested Berkley have never badmouthed or denigrated any other gear and brands by name.

You can stay as you are for the rest of your life or you can change to Mainstay :whisp. PS: I never trust a person who has to say "Trust me". I usualy trust everybody by nature and wonder why somebody would want to urge me to trust them?
Lost the Plot of Sealine!?!

Walt and other members... I feel a debate like the one above should be viewed as a step forward .I know for a fact that I don't know everything about angling, actually very little.discussions like this are of the utmost importance to assist us in constantly improving our wonderful sport. This is the reason why sealine is such an amazing site...Anglers have the oppurtunity to voice thier oppinions and enjoy debating in them! like it or not anglers need to stand together to become the best! And i will Gladly say that I would love to go fishing with Long John one day as he is a fellow angler and when push comes to shove we all have somthing to learn and somthing to teach.so I would officially like to invite him to throw a line with me someday. After all you never know who's got your back! Thanx For the Brilliant work on the site walt , It truly has the ability to unite us anglers! P.S. im just not too keen on fising with cigrettes

Nice one Trophy! That donkey is going to catch pleeeenty fish!

Yes I think I have lost the plot completely. Totally out of my depth!

All that's left for me now is to go denigrate some cheese and get on back to school.

I am sorry that I wasted you guy's valuable time that you usualy spend fishing. If I was half as fortunate to live by the sea I would be fishing every day and night - not waste my time posting nonsense on a stupid thread like this.

Promise never to question an unsubstantiated or scurilous statement again. We should guard against facts interfering with a good argument/story.

Fish with whatever you like - after all its your business (and money). I say go for Zoom, Cullem etc, cause if this logic prevails, then any old bass baits will do. Try the coke can trick, you'll die laughing when you see that will also catch fish.  Patent it and call it the new "Zoem-Doef" technique.  DILLIGAF!

Please dont bother to respond to this post again as I dont have the energy, enthusiasm, or interest to reply to any of this ongoing drivel.

Merry Xmas and Styyyywe Lyne!

Tell you what, we catch more fish in a day on drop shot then he does on that dvd. To be completely honest, all of our members use non Berkley products. It isn't cheap and doesnt work as well as other brands. Trust me, tried and tested. I will even garantee you that every bloke who recon it is the best has never tried other brands such as sensaion, gummy or my favourite, Eco gear!!! Nothing beats eco gear.
