Drop shot road off a jet ski

Hi Guys,

I just got myself a jet ski rigged for fishing.

I was wondering what rod i should get for drop shot from the ski.

I have a daiwa exceler 3500 that i want to use with it.

I do have a 9ft berkeley cobalt fire but i think it might be too big to fish from the ski.

I want to be able to use 1oz jig heads minimum.

Any advice would be appreciated.

thanks.

You could always have a look at jigging sticks. They are usually shorter. Below are some Trevala rods. The bold lettering is the weight the rod is rated as. You would want a rod with a fast action if possible for dropshoting. The tvs58 is 5'8" etc.

32 grams to an ounce.

Do yourself a favour and go check out the Shimano web site and one can download their products catalog. Its 38mb though so does take time but all the info one needs is in there.

I have also just started Jetski fishing.
I have found that a jigging Rod works Awesome for dropshotting of the ski. The rods are much shorter but have the guts to fight a big fish.

I would also recomend the Shimano range of rods. Good quality rods at a fair price.
