Drop Shot in Dubai

Hi guys,

Just started Drop shot fishing a week ago here in Dubai.

 

Was amazed at how the small baracuda would hit the drop shot at 02:00 am in the morning.

 

Will be asking lots of advice

You r 2/3 of the way to Oman, get there and send us pics of the GT's/Doggies please. They bite in the morning and afternoon so you can get a good kip at night!

Was wondering, can you have a beer while fishing on beach in Dubai?

Dubai is to expensive to go and have a drink.

 

R30.00 for a Miller light and you can only buy them in a bar or restaurant.  If you want to buy alcohol for home use you need a alcohol license.:spite

 

So that rules out having a beer while drops-hotting.

 

Give me some time to get my rods ect together and will have a weekend in Oman, March is coming soon and the fishing is generally a lot better then.

Hi Gerhard, I was based in Abu Dhabi in 2004, and had a big jol catching loads on Fly. The Arabian Gulf rocks.

My boss at the time had a 60' "gin palace" that we used to go out every Friday and fish around the oil platforms.......caught all sorts of really good gamefish. Also got smashed up too many times to mention. The UAE locals like to handline and I have seen some wonderful tussles with BEEEG couta.....coupled with very sore hands.

And yes, the GTs are prolific.

Hey,

 

Good to hear about the fishing. Do you have any GPS way points for some of the places?

 

That would help a lot and make sure we spend our time in productive spots.
