ok, what to do to slow me down or stop me from moving to fast over the spots when fishing in my inflatable? ::jdski::jdski

can I make my own drift bag and what effect will that have on the fish around me?

or should I just use an anchor, but that will also have a effect with the fish...

if you fish in a dam with lot of structure, then i dont think a drift bag is the best thing to use...my zim dollar.
I use an anchor.

I used to use a big concrete brick thing i spraypainted white, but a guy (badballie) from my inflatable thread told me he uses dumbells, and so i took some of those round dumbell weights u meant to slot onto the thing u hold (im no gymer??) and tied that to a rope. Looks good, have not used it yet, should work though, and there are no sharp edges now.
Hope it helps, even though its a budget anchor.
Let me know if u want a pic..
PEACE

I had a six pack cooler bag with bricks in, worked really good, going to buy a proper anchor this weekend, not to expensive.

thanks guys, I currently use a "baksteen on a rope" as anchor, but bricks suck up so much water, and when you have the "anchor" in the boat...you take on water aswell.

but cool, like the round dumbell weights, no sharp edges, no water in the boat, and it doesnt take up space...

thanks

I've used anything from rocks, bricks, pickheads to pvc tubing stuck into the mud, think it's time to visit Sportsmans warehouse for them nicely coated bumbells the ladyweights perhaps one 5kg will do.....

I use a 750g coffie tin. Made a small hole in the bottem. Thread the rope throw from the inside and made a knot at the bottem. Yust dunk it under the water and let sink. Once lifted, just empty and walla. Works fine to slow the boat down.

Made a visit to Sportmans warehouse and got 2 x 4kg's dumbells, now I 'm almost set for the next outing with daducky....... just got to get away from working myself into a physical resemblence of Achmed.... the dead terrorist, I keeeeeell Me.
