Double slim spoon

On Saturday I went to the beach to do some spinning with the double slim spoon.
The conditions were good with one nice formation.
After about 30 casts I decided to call it a day and gave one more cast and without reeling in the double spoon waded back to the beach with the rod over my shoulder, basically dragging the spoon on the bottom when......BAM! vas into a 5kg cobbie.
Obviously my normal retrieve sucks but if you witnessed somebody lure fishing like this I am sure you would wet yourself.
So I will only try this again when the beach is empty.

What weight was that double slim? 'cause they tend to be light for their profile, so maybe it was not sinking to the bottom. Often you have to stop the retrieve and let it sink again if the weight is not enough. I tend to use 60g compact spoons minimum for the beach.

SS slim spoon....weight 1,5OZ...works like a bomb amongst the bricks...

Nice catch mate, Cobs tend to hit that very slow moving spoon / lure that's dragging the bottom .

could some one post a pic of these double slim spoons please , I have never heard of them .

..thanks Willo....I dont go low n slow..OR bottom my spoons ...I target kob mainly over bricks and gutters ..very seldom off sandy areas...Ive had more success this way...will post a pic now now of the slim that i have and use ..BUT there are quite a few different ones out here on the market...mine are punched out of SS..

..BUT..be that as it may...they do work!!!...and very well indeed...the one you see laying ontop of that Shad is totally different to the Alcock slim...

Are you running assists when using the spoon between the bricks or just a straight j hook ?
( on my phone , can't clearly see your set up )
I have been removing all the singles from my spoons and just running short assists , much better hook up and less snagging amoungst the bricks ( when you do get stuck it's stuck properly tho.)

Are those double spoons made by seairon are they the same as your double slims ?

Nice fish, and seriously impressed that you throw 1.5oz on a multipler!

Off the bricks I use a lighter spoon like a double slim or SV#2 but going to give those snagless jigheads a go.

Kenty, do you ever use Dr Hook's Krokodil spoon? Had a 1.5oz that produced like crazy but can't find them this side.

..Could be...that Im not sure of...BUT...It wouldnt surprise me..Coz their toppie , Dave Alcock , in his day was a very experimental when it came to spoons and lures..I have a book of his on lure fishing the TK,s..very good!!

..Jip....I dont do grinders Bud...that SL has NO brakes and the spool shaft has been shimmed...the cast control turn screw runs loose....old theory ...throw smooth n hard and brake smooth n hard....

As to the Dr Hook spoons....never liked them they dig in when retrieved and they dont like a side wash at all...Im not sure if you can still get them...the topiie that made them used to live here in EL...

Howzit Willo...I only use short shank live bait hooks....from 4/0 through to 8/0...When that live bait hooks it hooks!!!...No...dont like the idea of the assit hook...in the structure Im fishing I would lose a lot of metal!!
