Donaldsons Dam

I visited Donaldson Dam the weekend of 20 to 21 September 2014.

I was pleasantly surprised with the administration of the facility. The facilities might be old however was clean and neat, the grass was cut short, the ambition facilities in a good clean condition.

There are no water grass and security was tip top. It was only me and my 11 year old son and we had a ball. Caught a 10 Kg and 15 Kg carp.

Well done to Wiseman, Simon and the team. You are doing a great job.

Worth visiting, will definitely be back.

One of our friends took the boat and caught 8 bass next to the reeds closest to the wall on the entrance side.

Hi,

I have booked a session at Donaldsons, swim 16 in early January. My usual venue is Rietvlei. I would appreciate advice as to where to search for features, feed used, hook baits, flavours and rig set up. I usully prepare my own particles such as maize, hemp and tiger nuts or is this venue better suited to boilies as I have heard There are not many Barbel in the dam.
