Dit was spesie gewees.
Was self nie daar nie, maar hulle het Saterdag ingeboek en vroeg Maandag oggend weer vertrek.
Alles gevang met Tiger nuts by die riete aan die oorkant.

Nice fish ... did not realise one could still fish there.

Here are some carp I caught there in 1980 ... all with single mielie pip and free spool... 4 of the fish where knocking on 20kgs if I recall correctly ... "specimen fishing" before specimen fishing was invented

specimen was around before the eighties, pity they dead we could have enjoyed them today as 30 kilo fish,

Ja boet ... the only "specimens"  at Donaldson dam then were the "bakkie and brandewyn" crowd getting vrot listening to "pretty belinda" at full blast ....

You are right about the fish being killed, I guess most of us were ignorant then and am happy to report that I release trophy fish nowdays ...
