After paging thru my fishing journal, I realised that the weather was surprisingly similar to the weather exactly 7 yrs ago !! I couldn’t take the pain of not knowing and decided to put in half day leave !

We get to Wolfgat at 12am and the tide is starting to push, the water was flat, which is ideal for this deepwater territory ! I rig up with a fresh mullet and give a decent cast and proceed to pour the tea, when  ZZZZZZZ ZZZZZZ ZZZZZZZZZZZ !!! Could it be? Fish on my first cast ?!!! To my surprise it’s a beauty of 8Kg !!!

Eagerly rig up and vas AGAIN, but this time the hooks pull 10m from my feet !!  My buddy Mark runs up to me and asks for some tips, and re-rigs with a whole mullet, casts 50m and waits 5 min before he went VAS !! This fish really had him running for his money ! Bit of an epic battle but he eventually lands the fish, PB of 6Kg !!

It’s barely an hour of fishing and we already have two beautiful fish on the scoreboard ! It goes quiet for a while, but that’s when you have to stand on guard and be ready ! Rod dips and reel sings half-heartedly, 3Kg !!

 

I feverishly re-rig and throw 50m and immediately get picked up AGAIN, this time it’s a 6Kg Fish !! WOOHHOOO, It looks like history does repeat itself but experience makes the difference !

Mooi,jy's n gelukkige kerel,ek was by macs maar niks gemaak nie.Ek het weer net wurm getry want vorige trippie wou hulle net wurm he,nooit eers gedink om enige ander aas te toets nie.

Interesting theory. According to my journals ,my best year were 2001.So if its true i'm in for personal best's this year lol.Since being with SSEC:WC i have equipped myself with sufficient knowledge of getting the big one's.Now i'ts time to practice what i learned.Nice catches Riyaad and thanks for the "invitation" lol

Dankie Oom Carlic ! Ek het al die vissies op visaas gevang, die ander manne het Chokka gegooi maar die vis wou niks weet nie ! Die Kabeljoue was seker lus vir vis en chips??!!  ::S

HEHEHEHE, I saw the weather was going to turn Monday already and out came the "book of excuses" !! LOL! So, I had ample time to think of a reason to fish !!
