Guys please keep us posted on what's happening I will do anything to help get broken road fix, there isn't even a decent toilet to take a popo,

Plan for Helen:
Concrete boulders on the surf from pool to the end of broken road.
Fix and retar the road.
Install lights.
Fence off area from start of broken road.
make entrance to area where currently is now, there is fencing around that braai area any way.
Security at entrance only valid fishing permits may enter.
Fix toilets, make it coin operated R2.00 a popo.
Two caravan shops lekka hot coffee (job creation).
5 metal sinks to clean fish two guys fleck your fish ( job creation)


I'm sure there is many more changes that you guys can think of, not only does this make sense but it will also prevent date rape, and all other illegal activities at lovers lane, it sad to see how muizenberg surfers corner gets upgraded and those surfers got access to toilets and shops with security 24/7, they also use the beach as much as we do most times anglers are on the beach more often, or is it that fishermen are classed much lower than surfers and our safety isn't as important.

Trekkers r allowd on the beach.

We drive over a hillliiieee to a tarred road and get fined.

By the way was these fines conifrmed for driving over the hill? or the use of broken rd

fine was for illegally accessing broken rd.via the hillliiieee.
according to the cop when asked how anglers are supposed to access the spots,his reply was "you must park at the pavillion and walk,you see there's a big parking there".

R2500.00 too steep for such a fine.

Thats the fine for driving on the beach. Sounds fishy to me.

Driving on the shoulder of the rd is R500.00

Ben no matter how hard we try they will find a way to make you pay, if there is a sign up that says no entry to the road then they can fine you, I will fish that road and not pay one single fine, if I fish Beespens and get mugged whose gonna fine those guys, metro police bring it on I won't pay. I'll send that fines to Helen, it's pathetic

here's what I dont get tho,as my understanding goes that little hiiillleee was'nt there a couple of years ago and was man made to separate the braai area from the beach,some reasons i received as to why this was done was to shield the picnicers/braaiers from the gale winds,vvbafvvvvbafvvvvbafvvvvbafvv.
anyone that can shed some more insight into that???

Guys we can argue/jossle on the internet about this till we blue.

Unless we become 'militant' as fishermen about our sport/spots being driven to becoming impossible to fish, nothing will come of this.

I was there one Saturday morning when the one boom was loosened during the night and saw the morning MCM screw it back.

Unfortunatly the wise fishermen only loosened one end so it was swung back and tied again.

Tonight will be BIG POPO if I don't get my line in that water by Broken Road. Never caught anything for a loooonngg time. The drought is nearly over. I can feel the rain of fish coming.

according to Metro cops...no,two of my buds got slapped with a R2500 fine each as well as other anglers and other mense.
when arguing their case and told the cops that they refuse to pay as it's not over a sand dune and does not form part of beach driving etc.which is not permitted,they were told to go argue their case in court.

that road AINT gonna get fixed...

are you guys not referring to the stretch between brokens and baden from paalties side? regularly 4x4's drive through, is it perhaps those guys who got nailed?

there aint NO money to fix that road
it does sit within the high tide mark and gets battered in winter.
angling is the single biggest sport in this country yet we get shoved around.


i will inquire from saps/metro as to what their opinion is and see if there alternative solutions.

at least allow access through the braai area.

Its "strange" how MAN claims everything that GOD gave to us (man) for free to enjoy and to experience. We need to pay our way around each and every corner no matter what or where.... Now to make things worse, they restrict us from our spots and in turn restrict us from our entertainment/hobbies...
WOW?....Is this the life we are living or supposed to live? I dont even wanna imagine what our children are gonna have to go through.....
