Does anyone know where I can buy super[u]cast[/u]

Does anyone know where I can buy supercast in Cape Town or Boland area? Used to buy it at Somerset sport, but they only seem to stock lemmetjies and supercatch. Any rating on these other brands perhaps? used them with no success. and dont like the smell of supercatch.


Which ones do you prefere?

Unfortunately we as suppliers can't force a retailer to hold stock for us. Strange you can't get ti there because it's in over 640 stores country wide.

If your local shop doesn't stock I'll find out who in WC has stock and can help you

The Sportsmans warehouse in Tokai has plenty in stock it seems theyre the only branch to keep it the other branch has Sensation's Pro series in stock
Suburban and Fred Tucker doesnt keep it or put it that way the way I see it is they cant make a big enough mark up

One of the owners of a tackle shop in the Western Cape told me that they are not supplying into Cape Town anymore because of transport costs, I don't know how true this is though. I have used Lemmetjies on my last three trips & find it easier to prepare than supercast, sticks well to the sinker/cage & also breaksdown pretty quickly. Alternatley I use Ou Kaapse lok, but this gets a bit expensive. Lemmetjies gets my vote for sure.

I'm also in the market for a new brand of mielie bomb.

Recently I've had a lot of problems with the consistency of the S/C mielie bomb.
The one bag had more "semels" in it than anything else and it wasn't even their competition popcorn, but the normal one. I always used to mix my S/C at a 2-1 ratio and it was perfect. It's now become a hit and miss affair. Add more water here or a little more dry mix there etc. until I've got it right.

I hear that the lemmetjies bom is very good, but lacks the weight that the S/C has.
The guys usually mix it with S/C for the added weight when distance is a must.

I used lemmetjies this weekend at Damalacaite for the first time. Used Martin Louw's dips and caught a 10.250 kg Carp on 20 meters. Will in the future rather use lemmetjies as SC is not what it use to be.

Lemmetjies is the same base product used in both lemmetjies and SC feed as well as feeds like Carp O fix, big daddy baits just cuts the popped yellow maize with a blade roller and not a hammer mill.

Supercast feed is made by SuperCast under a standard recipe and the only way it could differ is if the Mielies grow differently.

I use many different feeds and mix them according to where I'm fishing and what i'm fishing for......

Don't use popcorn in a fast flowing river

Fish popcorn and floaties for small fish

Fish popcorn with nuts and seeds added to attract and keep bigger fish.

Super Cast feed produced 3 x World Champions, individual and 3 x team world champions in Competition Carp angling, here in RSA, France and UK so there's no way it's not working

Me I fish MG popcorn mixed with Bokke Voer and in the past 6 years have:

Bank Angling 1 x Gold, 4 x Silver and 1 x Bronze

Comp Carp angling 2 x Gold, 7 x Silver (Individual / Team and Trophy Fish medals)

Different strokes for different folks........

I'm happy with what I use, I'm comfortable with what I use and recommend it to anyone.

Ek gebruik ook Lemmetjies voer. Dis plak nie so aan jou hande vas soos ander voere nie, is vinnig en het n lekker tekstuur. Ek het al SC voer bygegooi vir bietjie meer gewig. Gaan die naweek chic chic bygooi vir daai ekstra gewig. Kan ook mielierys bygooi vir ekstra gewig.

Hi Guys.
I am part of a large club here in cape town and all our members are struggling to get supercast groundbait. we are about 60 members and I'd say 90% of us believe and only use supercast,including myself! If the administrators can get hold of Skalla, perhaps they could look at the problem. I would even consider becoming a supplier of groundbait to our club, because we won't be ordering a bag or two,we would order boxes of 4kg.
We love the product and have total confidence in it and I believe Skalla and them would be loosing a big chunk of the market this side(Cape Area) if everyone has to start either making their own,like the old dyas, or has to start supporting the competition!

You'll find Supercast at either The Fishing Specialist ( Keith - 021 5914240) or Paarl Pets(PP) (Jasper van Aarde - 021 872 8755).  CTAC gets all their SC Feed from PP for all their league competitions - Jasper really goes out of his way to help one.
