I did speakt to Hannes and he redirected me to Pierre Jacobs...if anyone would like me to give them details about float tube competitions, give me a buzz

Now come to think of it......... why do i hate going to RDW? Cause of the twin Supercharged:pad::, NOS Boosted::gas:, Quadro-prop :uziCarbon-fibre Titanium re-inforced 20 ft Tritons and the likes that not only race like they Belong on an F1 track but.... lets just say it can truns any nice fishing trip into real Hell:swear.

So here's what I thought, there's no real comp for guys that only has small tubes/duckies (no petrol mounted engines) not to Even Mention The F1 like Tritons.  So how about we get an event organised for these snail-speed craft fishermen?

I've got "daducky" with a 30lb trawling motor on, so please lets see who else would be interested who has similar or even human powered craft, that would like to have a real fishing competition and not a racing comp!

If enough interest is shown I'm sure I could organise some sort of sponsorship for prizes etc.

*ADMIN* this is me checking if such a comp would be allowed! Please advise?

OH --- Neato :dban:

Now this sound like real idea.  Even a social would be awesome. Everyone on duckys', floats and pontoons :pad:: can gang up on them speeders :shade1s :vic::. Just kidin'.

A comp and/or social sound like a great idea!

Hey guys I think that is an excellent Idea - but some of us have a powerdriven boat wut are not in da same leauge as the lads with the tritons (What I mean to say isd that I have a 13ft boat with a 40HP. MAybe you guys could let us fish if we open it too all boats with electric motors - I would be prepared to forego the use of the main and just utilize the trolling - although I will get a fat battery chop chop.

Is May a possibility? Sorry to ask but April is really full for moi - been selected as NataL Artlure Manager (So hey I just found out I got me Natal colours -YAY) and then I have also been asked to fish for Protea trials - will take me about 3 years to get my Protea colours cause they fish on a penalty points system based on you last two trials. ANd then weekend of 1 MAy I have my annual trip in search of Toothy critters and big bass in and around Pongola.

SO keep us speeders in contention too please;)

Keep the speeders in contention he says, K, :f1shy hauls out the Dillion Aero tri-mounted gattling:shade1s and lets rip :uzi:kaykakat the rear end of all the speeding rigid's behinds, making sure they don't even have the thought of starting up them noise making horsies at the back:uzi:kaykak, all the speedsters :kneel::bow down to the superior firepower:shade1s::gas::uzi of da snail-cruisers:pad::

I think the best would be to fish dams where No boats are allowed like Homestead and so on. But I will see what I can do from this side for you guys

I think its different to fish from a boat....than fishing from a tube...i mean..your sitting the hole time while with a boat your standing...so i thinkg with a boat you have an advantage?dont you think?
Sounds like the durban boys took over here?LOL
So damn still no competitions for me in gauteng or North-West...still waiting for Pierre Jacobs to come back to me..his from Bass Scene...

Basslover most of us are from Pretoria
And yes you have a better advantage from a boat as you are higher up from the water. Just give me a week or so and let me see what I can arrange with my sponsor and so on and let’s see if we can get you guys a tournament to fish up here.

Bass Scene looks nice but that’s no actual competition. You catch a fish and take a pic on there scale paper and then they work it out from there. I had an idea of same principle as our comp we fish of our boat but that will just be for float tubes and little duckies like LGF's. So we will have to find ways for you guys to use a live well to keep 5 fish alive the whole duration of the competition. But let me think a bit and I will get back to you

In the states they have a float tube league. They usually string the bass up until weigh in. Another way of doing it is to have a weigh master that travels between anglers the whole time. Usually these comps are in smaller dams or small areas of large dams.

I would love a float tube compo myself
