Hi Tauruck,

Plenty guys dive off fishing skis very successfully.  I have done so, and so has Capespearo on this site - he got a ncie big yellowtail at St. Francis off it.  Gives you quite a bit of range - quicker than swimming.  Just need to figure out how to store your stuff.  Also need to get one of the flat, stable fishing skis.  Not many cons, other than having extra gear to transport and manage.

One question, thoguh:  What on earth is a pink salmon?  I'm guessing a rock salmon, or a Natal bankie?

Cheers,

Tony

No worries :)

If you are lookign to get a ski, then you can track down Brett Challenor - he had a decent selection second hand for decent prices.

Good luck,

Tony

Hi Tauruck,

Agree with Tony on getting one of the more stable ski's,might not be as quick, but when kitting up out at sea definitely helps.

The big pro I have found is that you can access parts of the coast that would normally take hours by boat from the launches that are often miles away, and this also lends itself to better fish life as it would not be so heavily targeted. Also very affordable and doesn't require a large vehicle for towing etc.
