Great, sounds good! Have to be at the airport in the morning but should be free after that. You know what the conditions are like? Any news on gamefish action anywhere? Im from KZN and in CT for the rest of the week and would love to bag a tail before I leave!

Fishlips, don't think your gonna be able to land a tail before you head home, especially on the Table Bay side...

Simba what does the vis look like on that side? Know it was bad over the weekend...

had a quick dive at kakoven after work yesterday. Vis wasnt great, between 2 and 3m. that was in the bay. Couple of small hotties still around.

Anyone know what the red fish is that swims in small shoals on that side. slender fish with faint blue lines down the side. looks similar to those red fish u see for sale on ice at pick & pay. anyone know? they are all small tho

I think that the fish you are referring to is a Strepie. Baitfish me thinks...

Hey Fishlips,

Welcome to the frigid cape waters... The tail have moved out of the bay sadly. There are reports of yellowtail, skippies, Longfin even the odd YFT (+-20kg class) in the vicinity of the bellows and a few miles beyond.
If you can get onto a boat, I think you'll be in the mix!

Good luck mate!
Cheers,
L

Thanks chaps. We took a drive out to Smiths yesterday afternoon. The viz looked marginal and it was quite surgy from the 2m swell that was running so we decided to giv it a miss.

Any other condition reports? Maybe its improving from the NW blowing?

I jumped in just north of Millers Point yesterday afternoon. Conditions were not great but I'v been out of the water for about 2 months so I was pretty desperate. I had about 3m viz and it was very washy. Not many fish around. I managed 2 hotties, a blacktail and a bankie.

I think this morning would have been better. Lets see what the weekend holds - looks like more swell and SE
