Hi All
The restrictions on diving in certain areas in the Cape was part of the closure of the perlemoen fishery.
It seems that little thought went into the area closures and it seems that poaching increased in some areas.
Part of asking for the lifting of the ban is to get across to MCM how important those closed areas are to recreational divers.
Please give a personal account of your diving relationship with the closed area. (In the case of Cape Point areas please set out your need for access to a boat. This need migh arise from a need to access wreck or to stay safe during spearfishing or some other reason.)
Please email your response to either Recreational Fisheries Services at recfishserv@yahoo.com or Underwater Africa at info@uwa.org.za
Please set out the content of your email in the subject line.
These organisations will be able to relay the information to MCM.
Thanks
Judian
