Hi All,
I get thoroughly confused about all the talk around rods with various "actions" and test curves etc etc.
I am new to specimen angling and after being a conventional angler for many, many years now I have gotten myself some starter gear and my question refers to method feeder fishing and the concerns around casting and balancing the weight of the lead, feeder and bait itself to prevent a breakage.
I have Shimano 12' Alivio's (latest model; 12300) and I dont wanna be the victim of a broken tip while casting because the lead/feeder and bait combo was not within the rod limits. I dont know what these limits are or how to understand the info on them even; any do and donts if you will?
Is it best to assume not to use any lead (sinker) on your mainline when using a method feeder? how does this get you good distance without snapping the rod...
I hope this all makes some sense as I am still a noob and dont understand it much either!
regards
Clintie
