Discontinued lures

Sitting around waiting for better weather over the long weekend, I decided to have a look thru my "junk".

Found this bad boy- discontinued MirrOLure 52MR11. I know he don't look too fancy but I do know that these lures have quite a of reputation, and that you can't seem to find them here in S.A either. Now I'm wondering- should I keep it for the " collection ", or should I take this thing down to the water? It'd be heartbreaking to lose it.

For interest's sake, does anyone else here have any old discontinued lures at home?

I think that is a 32M, not a 52M. It's still listed on the Mirrolure catalogue so available. I got a skippie or two on it in the surf at Rocket Hut in KZN some years ago. A nice lure for sure.

Hey Ninja Nic , I know this is not about yr lure you looking for but being a lure guy yr-self I think this site is awesome as we as lure fanatics are always on the prowl & this is a real “must know” bit of info.
It’s really worth checking out & needs our local (SA) support I would say. This because I myself has many of these lures in my arsenal & they work like a bomb.
http://www.afritackle.co.za  (also on Facebook)
I have made contact with Allsorts (Rolfe Deppe)& established that he started an On-line tackle shop attempting to give our local lure & tackle manufacturers more exposure & publicity & by selling their products. This due to our poor Rand performance & pricey overseas market.
According to Rolfe he will be receiving Clone lures as well of which I can vouch really works well. Let’s hope to see some nice ones!!
ADMIN pse take note, I am not advertising this site but mentioning it for I feel that supporting our local market with excellent products & lures is the correct thing to do. (One can interpret advertising & mentioning any which way ……in a sense it’s not the same)
I have noticed that the products being sold includes spoons for jigging , Sea Iron spoons , Ashley Read tin spoons , Swannell's Sparkle surface  plugs , clips , rings & custom lures,   Seal Point plugs etc.
Many of these products are not found all over in SA & yet we have these great guys on our doorstep.

Lets hope Allsorts can keep us posted with his new venture.  ;)

((goodp_

That just made my day _seal1_ I was actually looking around at lures over this past weekend and wondered about local products. Managed to find some tiny cranks and poppers made by Cats, and dirt cheap too at under 30 bucks each so I gripped a handful. Going to test them near Wilson's Wharf tomorrow morning before work.

Ben, shot for that info once again man. Heading over to that site now ;)
