Hi Guys _seal1_,

So ive recently invested in a muti box and i am ready to fill it.
Do you guys prefer a range of mutis, or do you guys prefer individual dips.

Ive been advised on the Vallies Range by Hookit, and the conoflex range. Any comments on these ranges or different ranges will be appreciated.
Currently i am being pulled towards buying a range and then adding the "IMPORTANT" dips.

With regards to the "Have to have dips" what would you guys suggest?

Lookong forward to the comments.

Just buy what works. No need to be brand specific by buying a matching brand range. The fish couldn't care whether your brands are all nicely matching in your box lol. Some brands have certain flavours that others don't and that work well. And yes there are dips that are a must in every box. Banjo, FX, Gumtree and garlic are a must where I'm from. I would suggest speaking to some experienced guys in your area to work out what the essentials in your box should be. I have around 30 dips in my box but only ever used about half of them lol. The other 15 are for safety in case the fish suddenly want something totally different to what they normally take (which is very rare). building a dip collection is fun but costly. better to work out what the essentials are and buy those first, knowing that they actually WORK, rather than going crazy like a kid a candy store and buying everything besides the working dips. Once you have your main dips you can then buy the odd dip now and again and add it to your collection.

Tight lines.

P.s, check out the conventional carp section on this forum, there's a thread called "Intriguing Topic: Dips". It should help figure out what you need.

Thanks for the reply RHK, what you're saying does make alot of sense. Spoke to a friend and he also suggested getting different dips from different brands.

Hi Micks,

I agree fully with RHK. I have also around 30 dips in my muti box and use approximately 10 of them. I have a combo list that I have put together from experience and advice and it tends to work for me. From my combo list there is common dips used in most cases.

I predominantly fish in the Vaal Dam area and can state that the following 6 dips I will not go anywhere without.

FX (Super Cast)
Yellow Activator (Trucella)
Almond Supreme (Super Cast)
Peach Fluoriscene (Trucella)
Looti (Champion Dips)
Perdeby (Super Cast)

I used to be very brand conscious and only had dips from one manufacturer, but as I grew older (read wiser) I opted for dips that works and that I have been introduced to.

Also, on this forum you will find a lot being said about dips etc.

Shout if you need any help.

Do you know where you want to go and shop for these dips etc?

Hi Aruthenburg,

I mainly fish the vaal dam so your advise is highly appreciated and i will definately invest in the dips mentioned.

I usually buy my dips from sollys angling, as they are close to home.

Do you advise any other shops? I live in the south of jhb.

I can certainly recommend Western Accessories in Boksburg. They stock a huge variety and their prices are very competitive.
