Different mask lens colours

While diving the weekend before last it again become obvious how stealtily one must move in order to not scare fish away, especially when hunding in areas such as Arniston with lots of caves and holes.

The problem is in order to see the fish I have to view the them in the same level of light as which they are hiding in, but as soon as sick my head into the cave / hole the fish see me and they scatter.

So I was wondering if anyone have tried different coloured lenses and if they made any difference? Possibly something like those yellow night driving lenses or the shades that some of the hunters / sport shooters use.

On the same note - can anyone recommend a really powerful diving torch? Something that is nice and bright but still small enough that I can possibly mount it on my gun.

Hi Landshark.

With regards to mounting a torch on your gun. It may look good on a 9mil but to my thinking its going to be very unpracticle to mount it on your gun. I tried this once, under the muzzle and it just caused havoc with the line. On the handle and its too far from the target area.

As for differnet coloured lenses, yes you do get them (not the yellow ones) and they have more of a mirrored look to them

Call Rabitech, they have them.

I have a Mares Star Elite mask with a mirror finish on the lenses. I find it makes a huge difference when the viz is good as you always spook fish as soon as you make eye contact (well from my experience)
