Hi There

Can you enlighten me as to who in SA stocks the Boca Kits and Carbontex drags from Smooothie.

Apreciate the help!

I have done the same upgrade on my Saltist (Complete bearing set and Carbontex Drag) and the results have been nothing but pleasure. For rock and surf getting better distance on the casts as the spool is much smoother and the improved drag has been very impressive, Have taken a few nice size Dorado offshore with the reel on a Kingfisher Couta Ski rod and I will now only use this reel for the small to med game fish. When fighting size fish, the reel is alot smoother when cranking under load.

Has made a huge improvement and i say it was worth every sent. (still alot cheaper than a Saltiga, but now performing like one)

These bearings are sealed? I opened my Saltist 50 up and tried taking the cover off the left side spool bearing but I stuffed it up majorly although got both covers off in the end and the bearing is still working just not smooth.

How do you go about cleaning and oiling bearings that have a cover on them because I will have to get a new bearing for my saltist and I don't want to stuff that one up to. Pity the saltist isn't like my SL50SH which has an open bearing.

Also using the Rocket Fuel "Liquid Grease" which I saw someone recommend over red/yellow stuff.
