sO sondag i take Flash for a gooi down at Voel se banke . whaler is already there with goldshark , and the vrou is on Patrol . sometimes i Really just don't know how to break it to her : that i wanna go Feeesshh ..
Sunday being sunday , I'm Cautious.
Anyhow so i Let go the truth , and say -Whaler is stuck at gouritz (lie) and he needs help .
I give flash half an hour to get his butt out of bed and by My place . He Only just makes the cut . The tree two tree is idling , bait's packed , and off we go .
goldshark Lost a Nice fish . No Takers . I'm disapointed man , so I call up heinrch. If anybody Knows where to fsh for elf , he's the man.
So I call him up and tune him someone dropped brake Fluid in My Tackle box .
That's funny " he says , "want ek't 4 Elwe gevang , en uitgeswem vir die laaste een Van so 6.4 Kg , net so 3 Km van julle af .............."......

So he tells Me about a spot , and I'm on the Phone Like Hootie and the blowfish and call up psy - we're going BACK ..... "no problem , we go for edibles .".
9 a.m ( Late , i Know - but when you got kids nagging and Wives watching , you even walk funny when you leave . They just Know man, they Know you not going to be home until LAAAAT. Oh well ....::craz
We Drive out to Gouritz . I'm doing My damndest not to talk so I Can remember all the bloody spot Markings heinrich was kind enough to share wth Me . i tell you , the ou is a genius at catching eLf. it's the same boytjie who nabbed the 9.4kg in stywe lyne a while back and was posted on Sealine . he Says he'd Rather show Me than hide the spots . i made a promise to Return all the fish i catch in exchange for the help .
We get there , and the Water sommer from the frst turn looks "reg". that Kinda reg that brings you back for More . Ai. i Love my fishing .There are a whole bunch of other avid boytjies standing to our left . All of em are egg smugglers from over the mountain . Heinrich warned me that once the word got out of his fish , there'd be people there . and , sure enough , it looked like the parking at pick n pay .I had no idea where exactly we were going to fish , but i followed instruction to the letter .The sea was rollling Gently , as i think the tide had just turned .
SO .
We make clark Kent look silly and dress like Lightning . I'm first onto the rocks . the water is pushing a bit, but i wade out , and, just as he told Me, i aim Left .
I cast into the closed window ."Maak oop die venster "i Hear going through my mind .
reel in .
AGAIN.

A Knot . Lovely .On sunday heinie told Me: Fish No Leader , go Straight .52 or .55 and onto the hook . i remove the last Remains of the old line i selfishly put on Over the new .50 ( My god I'm such a snoepgat whan it comes to Tackle and bait ..) , and walk back to the bait box. Had to Re-bait ,as what was left after 2 handbrake turns, Mid-air, has now slid down Onto the hook like a 4 year old in his long Pants pyjama's . it Looks awful .
SO I grab a pilchard from the bottom of My Box . i Know whaler Hates me fishing with this snotty Mess i Call bait , but .. nou ja . I'm after an elf man . i Want one bad . Elf apparently Like Pichard , so On it goes . I Let go with a ripper .
And then i cast .
This time the window was wound down , and it settled just Right of psy's occy Leg .
The Water was much shallower than i'm used to fishing , and i Must admit that this was a huge learning curve for Me today. usually we only fish deep or the deepest water points , and this is where i think I've been making my mistake . there only rock cod and those small leopard sharks come out . but more on this later .
So i'm standing there on the rock , picking out the dryest cigarette from my pack and shaking my Lighter , when all of a sudden out of Nowhere , something takes my stinky old pilchard and i'm VAS !! holy crap , I've Heard stories about these fish before , but until you experience the pick-up from one of these things it really is hard to explain . Lucky Loomis rod again .you Beaut !
At first i thought i was making a mistake: surely they don't pull THIS hard , man , do they ? i scream with delight and psy is just giving me the ja , v*k , whateva"" thumbs up .
It's ON , man , and it's Not a shark . that much i do Know .
As the Last wave breaks i catch sight of my fish .
CRACKER !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Whoohooo !!! My first Cracker - and to top it all off- on a bloody PILCHARD !!! Vat so , Whaler !! Ha Ha Ha !!!
I cannot tell you guys how chuffed i am with this fish . 6.04 Kg it may be , but the fight in this fish now explains why people Love catching them so Much . they Pull with such force , and don't quit right to the Very end . Obviously i was beaming from Ear to ear man , finally i had nailed my first cracker !!!!And to top it al off it was during the Week nogal too !! so there ARE bettere things to do during the Week than WORK .
