I'm not an expert but here goes..

usually live mackeral do the trick for bottom fishing and vertical jigging with lure's and spoon's.

we also need to know on what would help to not get sea sick

Do not drink Alchol!

If your worried about sea sickness and are not sure if you would get it.. Go to chemist and buy sea sickness tablet's.. You usually take them 30 mins prior to launch!

Hope this help's.. Tho there are alot more other guy's who can point you in a better direction than i prob can.

Tackle, bait etc depends on where you are going, witch area, witch reef etc. Best would be to ask the skipper before hand what he recommends you take.

Most important thing you guys should know is that the skipper is always RIGHT. Your safety is his responsibility, if something goes wrong he would know best what to do, don't argue with the man, listens what he says and do it. On the flip side of the coin, if you guys behave and listens to what he says, less will go wrong.

Be safe, don't joke around with gaffs, knifes or hooks. When you cut bait, make sure you are seated or you have a very good footing, its easy to slip and knifes flying around and end up in one of your friends. Same applies to hooks, be sure you do it safely, don,t rush it when the fish are biting.

As to sea sickness, don't know, i don't have that problem.

Enjoy and come back safely!!

Seasickness : get stugeron

I HAVE THAT PROBLEM

ESA says a heaped spoon for Bovril in a 1/4 cup of boiled water for seasickness, I haven't tried it though

Reagrding going out for the day

sunscreen on all exposed parts , a decent wide brimmed hat and sunglasses, a must.

food- light stuff samies, pastries etc , 2 liters of water / cold drink.

good foot wear that you dont mind getting wet with, thick rubber soles - to stop/help prevent loose hooks ending up in your  feet.

dont get pickled the night before ! hangover on board will induce sea sickness have good nights sleep prior to the trip.

If its ten guys on one boat then youre gonna get tangles galore if youre bottom fishing. So make sure you're all using the same weight sinkers this will minimize tangles. If you hook a hammerhead or something then heaven help the gillie that must untangle that mess. DONT drink the night before thats a guaranteed chum-line. If youre fishing bottoms then something nb to remember that holds true is 'big bait, big fish'. The guy who consistently puts the big baits down will consistently hook more big fish than the guy who puts small baits down.
